Searching for Patients
When you launch the NCSR widget from within a patient's clinical record, the system automatically searches for the patient in the NCSR.
The following information from Clinical is used:
- Medical Identifier - either a Medicare number, Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI), or Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) number - Mandatory
- Family Name - Mandatory
- Given Name - Optional
- Sex at Birth - Mandatory
- Date of Birth - Mandatory
If the search details exactly match a participant on the National Cancer Screening Register, then you will be able to successfully open their record within the NCSR widget view.
If the search details cannot locate a participant on the National Cancer Screening Register, or cannot locate an exact match to a participant, then an error will be displayed. If you believe the patient may be a participant in the National Cancer Screening Register, check to ensure the patient's details used in the search are correctly recorded. If you require further assistance, you may contact the Register's contact centre on 1800 627 701.
If a participant has opted out of both the National Bowel Cancer Screening Register and the National Cervical Screening Register, a message is displayed with this information.
