The Pneumococcal Disease 'At Risk' tools consist of a search module (see below) and patient prompt. These tools provide you with methods of identifying candidates for Pneumovax23 vaccination as per The Australian Immunisation Handbook 10th Edition Section 4.13 'Pneumococcal Disease'.

This search utility is used to locate patients who are at risk of Pneumococcal Disease.

Procedure

  1. From the Clinical Front Screen, select Search > Pneumococcal Disease 'At Risk'. The Pneumococcal Disease 'At Risk' Search window appears.

    Note that if you select 'Immunocompromising Conditions', the search includes patients who are currently taking oral corticosteroids that were prescribed seven days (or more) ago.
  2. Select your search criteria and then click Search. The search results are displayed in the Search Results window.

    Open Opens the selected patient's record. If no patients are selected or multiple patients are selected, the first record is opened.
    Add Recall Records a Recall notification for each selected patient in the search results. See Adding, Editing, and Deleting Recalls for instructions on how to generate recalls.
    Print Prints a copy of the search results.
    Labels Prints a label for each patient in the list.
    Mail Merge Print a letter for each of the patients found in the list.
    Print Scripts Prints a Pneumovax 23 script for each selected patient in the search results.
