MyMedicare Import Wizard

Update the MyMedicare status of your Clinical and Pracsoft patients.

About this task

The MyMedicare Import Wizard imports .csv files provided by Services Australia and updates the MyMedicare status of all your Clinical and Pracsoft patients simultaneously. The import process can take some time, depending on the size of the .csv file and your system's performance.
Tip:
Import the .csv file outside your practice's business hours.

Procedure

  1. Locate and run the MyMedicare icon MyMedicare Import Wizard.
  2. In the Configuration field, select the database you want to update.
  3. If your practice operates from multiple locations, in the Location field, select the practice location whose patient database you want to update.
  4. In the User field, select your username.
  5. In the Password field, enter your password.
  6. In the MyMedicare Import Wizard window, in the Import File Path section, click the ... Ellipsis button.
  7. Select the .csv file provided by Services Australia.
  8. Click Import. When the import is complete, the MyMedicare Import Wizard displays a list of patients whose MyMedicare status was successfully updated.
  9. Check for any unmatched patient records. These records were not updated automatically.
    1. Click Unmatched Patients.
    2. Check any unmatched patient records in your Clinical/Pracsoft database.
    3. If appropriate, manually update the MyMedicare status in the unmatched patient records.
    4. If you made any corrections manually, run the MyMedicare Import Wizard again to update the MyMedicare status of the remaining records.
    Tip:
To display a detailed log of the import process, click Full Log.
  10. To exit the MyMedicare Import Wizard, click Close.

What to do next

When you imported the patient file, if:
  • A patient's record was open, any changes made to that record by the Import Wizard are not displayed. Reopen the record to view the changes.
  • You were billing and applied an incentive to the bill, the Visit window might not display the correct MyMedicare incentive item number. Refresh the Visit window to display the correct MyMedicare incentive item number.
