Reissue eScripts

What to do if a patient does not receive their electronic prescription.

About this task

If a patient does not receive their electronic token via email or SMS, it is recommended you do not represcribe the medication because this does not cancel previous tokens or prescriptions. Instead, verify that the email address or mobile number in the patient details is correct and reissue the token. Reissuing:
  • Forwards the original token in case the patient requires the token to be delivered by a different delivery method or there was a problem with receiving the original token.
  • Avoids the issue of the patient having multiple active scripts.
  • Does not create a new prescription. The token that was sent initially is still valid.

You can reissue an eScript multiple times and to multiple email addresses or mobile numbers, but the eScript is dispensed only once.

Procedure

To re-issue an eScript:
  1. In the patient record, open the Old Scripts tab (Alt+O).
  2. Right-click the eScript. Click Reissue.
