Clinical V4.3a Hotfix Release Notes

The following information outlines the modifications and fixes contained in the Clinical 4.3a hotfix.

This update addresses problems found in MedicalDirector Clinical and Pracsoft 4.3a.

The 4.3a Hotfix is a patch that can be installed only over Clinical and Pracsoft 4.3a.

The update should be installed on all machines in any of these Clinical/Pracsoft roles:
  • Server with mobility
  • Server
  • Standalone
  • Workstation
  • Mobile

Enhancements

Bulk billing incentives are enabled for all patients, effective from 1 November 2025.

Bug Fixes

  • We’ve fixed a problem where, when working in the patient’s file and accessing the Holding File tab, users experienced multiple crashes per day. Related error messages were recorded in the MDError log and ESP logs.
  • We’ve fixed a problem that caused Pracsoft to generate duplicate receipts.

Installation Requirements

  • Minimum Clinical/Pracsoft version 4.3a, with all subsequent updates and fixes.
  • Clinical/Pracsoft must be stopped on the machine where the update is being installed.

Installing the Hotfix

  1. Download the installation file from https://download.hcn.com.au/downloads/products/md/MDCPS_4.3a_(4.3.24.18985)_HotFix.exe
  2. In the Downloads folder, double-click on MDCPS_4.3a_(4.3.24.18985)_HotFix.exe.
  3. Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard. Click Next to move to each step.
  4. Click Finish.

Testing the Update

  1. Start Clinical/Pracsoft.
  2. Login as an administrator.
  3. Open the Holding File window or patient Clinical window:
    • To open the Holding File window, in the patient record, click Correspondence > Check Holding File (Current Patient).
    • To open the patient's Clinical window, click Patient > Open. Select the patient. Click OK.
  4. Browse through the patient’s correspondence records to ensure the Preview pane is working as expected.
