MedicalDirector Clinical V4.3a Release 2 Hotfix Release Notes

The following information outlines the modifications and fixes contained in the MedicalDirector Clinical Clinical 4.3a Release 2 hotfix.

This update addresses problems found in MedicalDirector Clinical and Pracsoft 4.3a Release 2.

The 4.3a Release 2 Hotfix is a patch that can be installed only over Clinical and Pracsoft 4.3a Release 2.
Important:
Do not install this upgrade if you use Microsoft Server 2012 or an earlier release. This upgrade can't be installed because it requires Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which is not supported by Server 2012 and earlier releases. Please consider upgrading to Server 2016 or above. If this is not an option for your practice, please contact Support to discuss alternative options.
The update should be installed on all machines in any of these Clinical/Pracsoft roles:
  • Server with mobility
  • Server
  • Standalone
  • Workstation
  • Mobile

Bug Fixes

  • We've fixed a problem with the Unified Viewer DLL that caused Clinical to freeze when opening a patient record in Clinical.
  • Clinical now closes background instances of Webview2 that are no longer required, preventing performance issues.
  • We fixed a problem that caused SafeScript prompts to be inconsistent. Improvements to the prompt framework now ensure that prompts and their respective progress notes appear in a synchronous manner, resulting in a more timely workflow and ensuring that progress notes are written into the patient record.

Installation Requirements

  • Minimum Clinical/Pracsoft version 4.3a Release 2.
  • Clinical/Pracsoft must be closed on the machine where the update is being installed.
  • When installing on the server, Clinical/Pracsoft must be closed across the entire network.

Installing the Hotfix

  1. Download the installation file from https://download.hcn.com.au/downloads/products/md/4.3a_R2_Hotfix.exe.
  2. Ensure Clinical/Pracsoft is closed on the machine where the update is being installed. If installing on the server, ensure Clinical/Pracsoft is closed across the entire network.
  3. In the Downloads folder, double-click on 4.3a_R2_Hotfix.exe.
  4. Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard. Click Next to move to each step.
  5. Click Finish.

Testing the Update

There are no specific steps to test this update. However, Clinical's response time will be improved.
