Clinical V4.3a Release Notes
The following information outlines the enhancements, modifications, and fixes contained in the Clinical 4.3a update.
The 4.3 update is a full release that can be installed clean or over previous public releases.
Enhancements
- You can now search for patients in Clinical using their Medicare number or phone number. For more information, see Finding a Patient by Medicare Number and Finding a Patient by Phone Number.
- Patient Records:
- In the patient record, you can customise the buttons displayed and their position in the toolbar. The icons for the buttons are also larger. For more information, see Customise the Clinical Toolbar.
- You can now add a second email address for a patient to the Alternate E-mail field.
- Investigations:
- In the Holding File, add outstanding actions and comments. For more information, see Using the Holding File.
- We've added a
Holding File tab to the patient's clinical record so you can check for unactioned correspondence related to the patient from their file. For more information, see Holding File Tab.
- You can now add a recall for a result when adding notations and comments. For more information, see Adding Results Manually.
- Letter Writer:
- When emailing password protected attachments in letters using the Letter Writer, you can now configure a custom password for the individual email. For more information, see Send an E-mail from Letter Writer
- Alternate Email is now included in the Letter Writer's list. Add to your letters as required.
- Use the new option to print and save a letter and close the Letter Writer in a single action.
- Roles and Permissions:
- For each user, you can now apply access restrictions to the following
functions:
- Send Email (from Patient file)
- Send Password Protected Email

- Maintenance:
- For exporting inactive and deceased patientspatients, we've added new
filters to
Import/Export. For more information, see Exporting Demographic Data
- We've added a message to remind you that imported patients' files will be active, regardless of the activity status when exported.

- Updates to recording and editing immunisations to support AIR 1.4 conformance, including changes to the Vaccine Type options and a new Antenatal field for immunisations administered to pregnant people. For more information, see Recording Immunisations.
Bug fixes
- We've fixed a problem where some sites intermittently experience a crash when accessing the Holding File.
- The Mini Wait Room now saves the last used position.
- We've fixed a bug where some imported results were duplicating the patient's given name.
