Configuring Email

Set up Clinical to send and receive email.

About this task

If you have MAPI-compliant (Messaging Application Programming Interface) email software installed on your computer, you can send email from Clinical.
Note:
Clinical interacts with your third-party email software, and it is this software that sends and receives email via your email server. Therefore, before you can send or receive email using Clinical, your email client software must be installed and functioning correctly.

Procedure

  1. Click Correspondence > Email > Setup.
  2. Enter the details of your organisation's email server:
    • In Hostname, enter the hostname of the outgoing SMTP server, for example, smtp.gmail.com.
    • In Port, enter the port number used by the outgoing mail server.
    • If your organisation uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security for email delivery, set Enable SSL.
  3. Enter the credentials you will use to log in to your email account. Either:
    • If you want to log in to email with the same username and password that you use to log in to Windows, set Use Windows Credentials.
    • If you want to use your email address as your username, enter it in Username. In Password, enter your password.
  4. Specify who can use these login details. Either:
    • To allow all users to share this email address, set All Users (Global).
    • To allow only the specified user to use this email address, set Current User.
