Patient Alerts

In the NCSR Hub widget home view, the alerts relevant to your patient are displayed at the top of the NCSR Hub screen.

These alerts are to indicate certain program result alerts, or administrative alerts such as deferral or mail failed. Some alerts may persist over several screening rounds.

Table 1. Bowel Program Alerts

Alert Type	Alert Icon	Description
iFOBT Positive		Patient has an iFOBT Positive result this round.
iFOBT Negative		Patient has an iFOBT Negative result this round.
iFOBT Inconclusive / No Result		Patient has an inconclusive or no result iFOBT result this round.
Positive Histopathology		Patient has had a positive histopathology result, and is medically excluded from the bowel program. Patient may elect to resume participation.
Colectomy		Patient has had a colectomy, and is medically excluded from the bowel program.
Opt Out		Patient has opted out of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Register. Patient may elect to resume participation at any time.
Defer		Patient has deferred from the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program.
Mail failed to deliver		Correspondence sent to the patient from the NCSR has failed to deliver.
Alternative pathway		Patient was a participant in the National Indigenous Bowel Screening Pilot.
Alternative Access Model		Patient is a participant of the Alternative Access Model and was provided a kit by the Healthcare Provider.

Table 2. Cervical Program Alerts

Alert Type	Alert Icon	Description
Higher Risk		Patient's cervical screening indicates higher risk.
Intermediate Risk		Patient's cervical screening indicates intermediate risk.
Undetermined Risk		Patient's cervical screening risk category is undetermined.
Low Risk		Patient's cervical screening indicates low risk.
Cervical Cancer		Patient has had cervical cancer.
Hysterectomy		Patient has had a total hysterectomy and no further follow-up is required.
Total Hysterectomy – No Prior Screening		Patient with no known screening history has had a total hysterectomy, with no abnormalities detected in the hysterectomy specimen. They are now completing post-treatment management.
Total Hysterectomy – Ongoing Screening		Patient has had a total hysterectomy and is completing follow-up due to historical abnormalities or abnormalities found during hysterectomy.
Glandular – 1 yearly co-test		Patient has been diagnosed with and treated for Adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS). They are now undergoing post-treatment surveillance where they are co-testing annually.
Glandular – 3 yearly co-test		Patient has previously been diagnosed with and treated for AIS. After successfully passing annual co-testing as part of their post-treatment surveillance, they are now co-testing every 3 years.
Glandular - Completed		Patient has completed their follow-up of completely excised AIS.
Test of Cure in Progress		Patient has a diagnosis of high-grade squamous intra-epithelial lesion (HSIL) and Test of Cure is in progress.
Test of Cure Complete		Routine screening after passing Test of Cure.
Opt Out		Patient has opted out of the National Cervical Screening Register. Patient may elect to resume participation at any time.
Defer		Patient has deferred from the National Cervical Screening Program.
Cease Correspondence		Patient has elected to cease their correspondence from the National Cervical Screening Program.
Mail failed to deliver		Correspondence sent to the patient from the National Cancer Screening Register has failed to deliver.
Compass Trial		Patient is currently participating in the Compass trial. Please call the Compass Register on 1800 611 635 to discuss management.

Table 3. Lung Program Patient Alerts

Alert Type	Alert Icon	Description
Defer Lung Program		Patient has deferred their lung cancer screening to a specified date.
Excluded - Lung Cancer		Patient has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Failed to Deliver: Lung		Correspondence sent to the patient from the NCSR has failed to deliver.
Low-dose CT Unsuitability		Patient is currently unsuitable for Low-Dose CT screening. This may be temporary.
Lung Cat 0, 1-3 month		Patient’s lung cancer screening risk category is undetermined. Suggestive of an inflammatory or infection process. Rescreen required.
Lung Category 1		Patient’s lung cancer screening risk category is very low malignancy risk.
Lung Category 2-4		Patient’s lung cancer screening risk category is either: Low malignancy risk (Category 2) Low to moderate malignancy risk (Category 3) Moderate malignancy risk (Category 4)
Lung Category 5/6		Patient’s lung cancer screening indicates high or very high malignancy risk (suspected lung cancer).
Lung Cease Correspondence		Patient has elected to cease their correspondence from the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
Lung Eligibility		Patient is eligible and is enrolled to the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
Lung Cancer Screening on Hold		Patient’s screening is currently on hold, awaiting healthcare provider’s diagnosis.
Opt Out Lung Program		Patient has opted out of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program. Patient may elect to resume participation at any time.
