Requests - Medical Imaging

Create an imaging request from the patient's record.

Before you begin

Correspondence > Imaging Request (via the Clinical window)

Procedure

To generate a medical imaging request form:
  1. Click Imaging Request in the toolbar of the patient's Clinical window.
  2. In the Medical Imaging Requests window, in the Provider list, select the medical imaging provider you want to use. If your provider is not in the list, add it to the Address Book.
  3. In the Request Type list, set the type of diagnostic imaging.
  4. In the Region list, double-click the region or regions of the patient's body to be tested.
  5. Optionally, you can edit the text in the Tests to be Printed on Form box or even type entire test requests, but if you choose to, you must provide the full test details.
  6. In the Clinical Details section, double-click the clinical information you want to include in the request. Optionally, you can type custom text in this text box. Optionally, if you set Save Text to List, your custom text will be added to the Available Tests list for use in later imaging requests.
  7. If the patient consents to have their test results uploaded to My Health Record, unset Do not send reports to My Health Record.
  8. To reprint a previous pathology request, click Reprint Prev. Select the pathology request. Click Print > Close. Pathology requests made in Clinical release 3.18 or later can be reprinted.
  9. If copies are to be sent to any other practitioners or specialists, click Copy To and select the names from the list that appears. You can select a maximum of three practitioners or specialists. The names in this list come from the Address Book. If you want to send a copy to a practitioner who is not listed, add their details to the Address Book.
  10. To order an SDS-based pathology or cytology request electronically via eOrders, click eOrders. Select the request. Click Close.
  11. Click Print.

Results

The imaging request is printed.
