Using Smart Scribe

Record a practitioner's clinical notes using the AI-integrated Smart Scribe.

Before you begin

To access the HeidiHealth or IntelliTek Health application, you must create a user account and sign in once.

About this task

Generate clinical notes using the AI-integrated Smart Scribe-IconSmart Scribe from the Smartbar.

Procedure

To record clinical notes using Smart Scribe-IconSmart Scribe:
  1. Select Patient > Open and select the required patient from the list. For more information, see Opening a Patient's Record.
  2. To use Smart Scribe-IconSmart Scribe, select Sidebar > Smart Scribe-IconSmart Scribe. For more information about using Sidebar, see Using the Smartbar.
  3. In the Smart Scribe-IconSmart Scribe window, start recording your clinical notes using any of the following AI-integrated applications:
    For HeidiHealth:
    1. Click the Heidi application.

    2. In the HeidiHealth section, click Proceed.

    3. To create a session, click Menu iconMenu and select + New session. You are redirected to the recording page to record the clinical notes.
    4. In the recording screen, set your microphone.
      Tip:
      When allowing microphone access, pin the Smartbar so that it stays open.

    5. To start recording the clinical notes for the patient, click Start recording.
      Tip:
      Alternatively, to transcribe your audio file into AI-generated clinical notes, click Upload a file to transcribe Upload a audio file -icon.
    6. After you have completed your clinical recording, click Stop.
      Tip:
      To create a new session, select Menu iconMenu > New session.
    7. To add more details to the clinical notes using AI, in the Search or generate anything field, click and enter the required clinical term or alternatively, select the required note template from the list.

      HeidiHealth automatically starts interpreting your clinical notes and the notes are displayed in the Smart Scribe-IconSmart Scribe window.

    8. Review the AI-generated clinical notes and customise them if required.
      Note:
      Before you push the AI-generated notes to MedicalDirector Clinical, ensure that they accurately reflected what was discussed in the visit.
    9. Click Push note.
    For IntelliTek Health:
    Tip:
    The selected patient's record is displayed at the top of the IntelliTek Health homepage.
    1. To generate the clinical notes based on your dictation, select Start Dictation.

      1. To start dictating, click Start Dictationmicrophone.
      2. To enable your system microphone, click Allow.
        Tip:
        When allowing microphone access, pin the Smartbar so that it stays open.
      3. After you have completed the dictation, click Stop Dictation.
      4. To copy the generated clinical notes, click Copy and then paste the notes in the required location.

    2. To generate clinical notes using IntelliTek Health AI, select Start Consultation.
    3. From the template list, select the required note template and click Start Recordingmicrophone.
    4. After you have completed your clinical recording, click Stop Recording or Generate.

      IntelliTek Health automatically starts interpreting the clinical notes using AI and the notes are displayed in the Smart Scribe-IconSmart Scribe window.

      Tip:
      To reinstate the recording or change the note template, click Back and repeat the process.
    5. Review the AI-generated clinical notes. To customise the notes, click Edit_iconEdit if required.
      Note:
      Before you approve the AI-generated notes and push them to MedicalDirector Clinical, ensure that the notes accurately reflect what was discussed in the visit.
    6. Click Approve.
      Tip:
      Alternatively, to approve and generate additional documents such as General Referral Letter or Generate Medical Certificate, click Approve & More and generate them.

Results

The AI-generated clinical notes are added to the patient's record in MedicalDirector Clinical.
