Update Process Checklist
Use this checklist to help you prepare your system for updating Clinical.

Review the system requirements for Clinical and/or Pracsoft. |

If your practice has integrations with third-party systems, such as pathology providers, pharmacy connections, Medicare/DVA claiming services, or specialist referral platforms, confirm with those providers that their services are compatible with the Clinical and/or Pracsoft update you intend to install. |

Scanners used with Clinical must be TWAIN-compliant. If your practice uses scanning, confirm that the scanner meets this requirement and the drivers are current. |

If you are adding users, ensure you have the registration key. If not, contact your Customer Success manager for a new registration key. |

If you use MedicalDirector Mobility, upload all patient data. |

Perform a full MedicalDirector Backup with the Backup Utilities. |

Allow enough time to complete the update while users are not
using Clinical and/or Pracsoft. Tip: Do the update outside of business hours or
on a weekend. |

Ensure that all MedicalDirector software is closed on all computers. |
![]() |
Disable the antivirus, firewall, and opportunistic locking software. Enable them again when the update is complete. |
