Installing, Modifying, or Uninstalling Clinical/
Install Clinical/ and its related components with the Installation Wizard.
Clinical and Pracsoft are client-server applications. Computers are assigned different roles that determine how the computer behaves in a Clinical/Pracsoft installation.
In typical multi-user practices, one computer is assigned the server role and the others are assigned the workstation role. ClinicalPracsoft share a patient database that resides on the server and is shared with the connected workstations.
Alternatively, the Clinical and Pracsoft applications and the server components can be installed on a single computer. In this configuration, the computer has the standalone role.
Laptops can be set up for use outside the practice network, for example, for visits to aged care facilities. These laptops are assigned the mobile role. A mobile acts as a workstation when it is connected to the practice network and as a standalone when it is not connected.
- Installations can take an hour or more, depending on what is being installed. Server installations take the longest time because it includes installing the database. To minimise disruption to the practice, server installations should be done outside business hours.
- If you are installing Clinical and/or Pracsoft on more than one computer in your practice, install the server role on the server before you install Clinical and/or Pracsoft on the workstations or mobiles.
-
MedicalDirector Mobility can be used only if it is selected when MedicalDirector Suite is first installed on the laptop.
