Registering for SMS ePrescribing

ePrescribing using SMS may incur a cost to your practice.

Before you begin

SMS costs are passed onto practices. Electronic prescribing using email messages is free, as are paper tokens and paper prescriptions.

Any subsidies are managed through MDref, so ensure your system is up-to-date. For more information, refer to MDref and the MDref Explorer.

Procedure

To enable ePrescribing using SMS at your practice:

Select Correspondence > SMS > Setup.
In the Configure SMS Account Details window, set The site agrees to the terms of the MedicalDirector SMS post billing service.
To check your account status, click Check Account. If the Account Status does not read Normal, contact MedicalDirector Customer Service for advice.
