Security

MedicalDirector Clinical protects users data, clinical notes and other sensitive information by storing it in an encrypted format.

Data recorded in Clinical's patient database is secured using access levels, together with encryption on the HDD of the actual data. Access levels determine what information a user has access to. Other security features include:
  • Every user of Clinical must be defined in the user database. Each user's record includes the user's name, password and access level. When a user logs on, their password is matched against the user database to determine who they are and what level of access they have.
  • Clinical notes are stored on the practice server in an encrypted format.
  • Automatic screen locking after a user-defined period of inactivity protects against unauthorised viewing of records.
  • Progress Note encryption.
