Selecting Text

One of the easiest ways to select text within the Letter Writer is to use the mouse. This is done by clicking or dragging the mouse over the text to be selected.

  • To select a word using the mouse, double-click the word.
  • To select a line of text, triple-click a word on the line.
  • To cancel a selection using the mouse, click anywhere on the area outside the selected text.
  • To cancel a selection using the keyboard, press any arrow key.

    Text can also be selected using the keyboard. The following table lists the keys that can be used to select text.

    One character to the left SHIFT+Left Arrow
    One line up SHIFT+Up Arrow
    One word to the left CTRL+SHIFT+Left Arrow
    To the start of a line SHIFT+Home
    Up one window SHIFT+Page Up
    To the beginning of the letter CTRL+SHIFT+Home
    One character to the right SHIFT+Right Arrow
    One line down SHIFT+Down Arrow
    One word to the right CTRL+SHIFT+Right Arrow
    To the end of a line SHIFT+End
    Down one window SHIFT+Page Down
    To the end of a letter CTRL+SHIFT+End
