Adding Users

Add non-clinical users to Clinical.

Procedure

  1. Open the User Database.
  2. Click Add User.
  3. In the Add User window, enter the user's name.
  4. Indicate the user's practice location.
  5. Select one of the options from the Category list. Common categories are listed, and you can manage user-defined categories via the Ellipsis button.
    Users in the practice manager category can:
    • Add and remove practitioners and users and setup passwords.
    • Modify practitioners and user demographics and access levels, and change passwords.
    • Change licence codes to increase or reduce the number of licensed practitioners.
    Tip:
    If you select Medical Student, you can also indicate their supervising practitioners.
  6. Select one of the Access Level options:
    • If Access Level is set to Full, the user can:
      • Record the user's provider number for Medicare Australia Immunisations.
      • Record the user's HPI-I number.
      • Indicate that you want to participate in My Health Record, and then record your details as you want them to appear in the My Health Record system.
    • Indicate whether this user should have Data Export privileges.
    • Options Editing gives the user access to the Clinical Options and Print Options menus.
    • Auto-Capitalise Name automatically capitalises the first letter of each word the user types. Many windows throughout Clinical that offer this functionality, including the Options tabs. Auto-Capitalise Name determines the default setting for all others.
    • PKI Encryption enables the encrypting of e-mail correspondence sent from Letter Writer using HESA PKI Certificate encryption technology.
    • Participate in Deidentified OneNil Patient Data Set Collectionopts-in the user to OneNil data collection.

  7. Click OK.
  8. Enter and confirm a new password.
    Multiple users can share the same user name. For further information about passwords, see Setting and Changing Your Password.
  9. Click Save.

Results

The user record is added to the user database.
