Respiratory Function

Record respiratory function data and compare it against predicted height and sex, before and after broncho dilation.

About this task

Use the Respiratory tool to record and save respiratory data for your patient.

Procedure

To record respiratory data:
  1. To access the Respiratory function, perform one of the following methods:
    • On the Toolbar, click the Respiratory iconRespiratory icon.
    • Press Ctrl+Alt+R.
    • In the Clinical window, select Tools > Tool Box > Respiratory Function.
  2. Select any of the following tabs:
    • Device - use a spirometer device to record values.
      Respiratory-Device tab
    • Manual - manually enter the values from the test report.
      Respiratory-Manual tab
  3. Conduct the respiratory test with your patient and in the Manual tab, enter the values from the patient's respiratory test in the PEFR, FEV1 and FVC fields for both Pre and Post tests. For more information about these terms, refer to Terms in respiratory calculator.
    The FER value is automatically calculated and displayed in the FER field.
  4. Click Save.

Results

The recorded values are saved and displayed in the Data tab.
