Exporting MedicalDirector Data

Export clinical data of selected patients into a file.

Before you begin

Requires you have permissions access.

Procedure

Locate and double-click the MedicalDirector Maintenance icon on your desktop.
In the MedicalDirector Maintenance window, select Database Tasks > Common.
Double-click Import/Export. If this is the first time you have tried to access Import/Export during this session of working in MedicalDirector Maintenance, you will be prompted to select a Configuration and enter your username and password.
In the Import/Export Wizard, click Next.
In the Import/Export window, click Export > Next.
In the Data Type window, select Clinical.
Select the format in which you want to export the data.

XML

Select this option if the data is to be imported into another system, for example, for another practice to import into their databaase.

HTML

Select this option if the patient data is to be viewed outside Clinical.

PDF

Select this option to export the data as a PDF file.
Click Next.
In the Select Patients window, select the patients whose clinical data you want to export.

Export All Patients

Exports all patients in the database.

Include Inactive

Includes inactive patients in the export.

Include Deceased

Includes deceased patients in the export.

Search

Optionally, enter the first letter or letters of the patient's surname, then click Search.
Select each patient you want to export, or click Select all to select all displayed patients.
Optionally, click View Selected to view the list of patients who are currently selected for export.
Click Next.
In the Export File window, accept or change the file name and folder location using Ellipsis.
Click Save.
Click Next. The export processing begins. You will be notified upon completion. Click OK > Finish.

Results

The clinical data of the selected patients is exported in the format you selected.
